For our final instalment of the year at Basing House, we are glad to present Real Tone label boss Franck Roger plus the “unknown-identity” duo Moodtrap [Tsuba].

[FRANCK ROGER]

Franck has been a great ambassador for the true meaning of French house music, from his productions that stretch back more than ten years, through to his own record label Real Tone. Having started out producing direct, peak-time vocal cuts, Franck’s dedication to his art has seen his music evolve across an ever-widening panorama of moods and feelings, sound sources and production methods. Enormous release’s like his ‘After All’ EP which dropped last October, to his recent collaboration with Maya Jane Coles, has gained him respect from some of the world’s greatest artists. Deep house god, Kerri Chandler has even claimed Franck to be one of the world’s best DJ’s and producers around today!

[MOODTRAP]

Shedding the identity of their current producer / DJ project, Moodtrap will remain anonymous in a bid to simply let their music do the talking. Their purist approach towards the promotion of Mootrap is both refreshing and reflective of the attitude of their music, namely 90s influenced, classic house sounds.
Having first appeared with a track on the wonderfully inimitable Tsuba Records, Moodtrap’s releases will be for Kevin Griffiths’ imprint exclusively. The debut EP, ‘Body To Body’ unveils four accomplished, underground house tracks. Displaying an old school energy and an utterly charming rawness, the guys have got their new alias off to a flying start.
