Party: Bread & Butter presents Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary

Bread & Butter is back again with its monthly appointment at Russian Bar.

We are happy to welcome the french talent Bloody Mary (Dame Music /Sender/Contexterrior)

Always on the lookout for new sounds and fresh music, the sets of this French-born, Berlin-based Dj provide a fine example of what is happening at the moment. With the explosion of the minimal scene, Mary adds to hit her very own touch. She continuously expresses her love for the German sound every time she takes the decks.

Bloody Mary grew up in the region of Aix en Provence. Her favorite musical genre was new wave until she went to her first rave party and discovered the world of electronic dance music. This revelation inspired her to give it a go herself, and she did her first gig in Marseille only one year after acquiring her first pair of turntables.

Bloody Mary soon got booked all over the South of France, establishing herself as a strong figure on the techno scene – Docs des Suds (Marseille), Splash Festival, Dragonbal Festival …

2005: Bloody Mary held a monthly residency at Studio88 (Aix en Pce). Her subsequent move to Berlin took her career to an international level. She regularly played in various cities and clubs in Germany (Watergate Berlin, Harryklein Munich…) and Europe (The End London, Rex Club Paris, Cassero Bologna…). This was only the beginning of her productive career.

2006: Having already focused on her Djing abilities, she set up her studio to make tracks that will go along the lines of her favorite label! This led to her debut release, “Apparence” on Sender Records.

2007: As a producer, she had her second release on Sender in addition to remix for Nomor Records. As a DJ, she expanded her territory, which now includes South America (Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia…) and North America (NYC).

2008: In the studio, Mary began collaborating with Sierra_Sam, and they released a pair of EPs, the first on Einmaleins, and another on ToyForBoys, who will also release her first DJ mix compilation Tanz mit mir this June. Surrounding the release, she makes her return to the US ( Miami, Los Angeles, Detroit ) and Mexico.

Outside of her solo work, she is one-third of the newly formed group Gypsy Family, along with her friends Quenum (Cadenza) and Dachshund (Num), who will release their first EP.

2009: ” Black Pearl ” is it her debut full-length, first artist album to appear on Contexterrior records in its seven-year history. Mary presents 11 tracks that explore techno, melodic ambience and haphazard breakbeats, resulting in an album that stays true to the spirit of Contexterrior: dancefloor expediency balanced with unapologetic experimentalism. She start a world tour include USA and Asia ( China, Japon ) and she play in Europe @ the Rex club ( Paris), Watergate ( Berlin ), Fabric ( London ), ……..

2010: After building up a successful DJ and production career, what’s a girl to do next? For Bloody Mary, the next logical step is to launch her own record label. Dame Music will be a hub for tracks from talent she has befriended over the years in the worldwide techno/house scene. Not pinned down by any particular sound, the label’s output will adhere to only one rule: music that Bloody Mary would include within her DJ sets. For those not lucky enough to have already heard her play, that means: powerful yet refined, invigorating, and ultimately optimistic.

Party: Bread & Butter All Day Sunday feat Alex Celler

Alex Celler B&B

BREAD & BUTTER is back for another exclusive Terrace Party @ The Brick House.

The internationally renowned Alex Celler (Freak n Chic / Cecille Records) will perform his unique signature sounds to an appreciative crowd along with Bread and Butter djs resident.

Acquiring success in the spring of 2009 with the release one of the year’s biggest dancefloor tracks, the last twelve months has seen an amazing run of productions from Alex Celler; his is a story of talent married to dedication and resulting in increasing success.
With its catchy hook and stylish lustre, ‘La Palma’ (Arearemote) was one of RA’s most charted tracks following its release and undoubtedly marked a turning point in Alex’s career. Follow-up releases ‘Trapped in Dub’ (Tuning Spork) and ‘North London Cutz’ (Cinematic) have helped rapidly cement an energetic and intense tech house sound full of swing, tribal rhythms & deep basslines. Meanwhile, the ‘Anthea & Celler’ bombs which arrived (with friend and fellow Londoner Anthea) on Cecille and Freak n Chic have afforded them both notable exposure and also the opportunity to take their partnership out on the road, courtesy of their back-to-back DJ sets. This is a partnership that is close to the hearts of both.
A Greek national by right but a Londoner by choice, Alex’s distinctive DJ style hints towards an obsessive attitude to crate digging – playing out an impressive blend of rare, old and modern tracks, his precise intuition for the right record on the dancefloor mirrors his own love of the party atmosphere.
Durable productions and mood-changing DJ sets have seen Alex feature as guest around the globe at respected parties at Ibiza’s Underground, Amnesia and Space as well as others including Trouw (Amsterdam), Studio Martin (Bucharest), Arma 17 (Moscow) and at home in London – where he has become a main player in the city’s underground house scene, guesting regularly at Fabric and T-Bar.
The coming summer season will see Alex play at the Space Opening Fiesta in Ibiza, and dish out releases on Arearemote, Cecille, air london and on Lauhaus’ increasingly slick label Soweso. Collaborations abound – with Lauhaus himself and the latest Cecille EP with Anthea.
